Text Summary

This is the legal statute written into codex during the early years of the establishment of the Empire of Farus, by Emperor Lucian Benedict.

Its purpose is to protect the people of Farus from the dangers that wait beyond the borders of the province. This statute was always intended to be temporary, to be overturned when technology and resources allowed the reclamation of the war-scarred provinces.

At present, the Empire is still unprepared to open borders, but monumental efforts are being made to safely explore and reach out into the Wylds, and eventually the old provinces.

Public Summary

What is forbidden?
It is forbidden to cross the borders of Farus into the surrounding provinces and Wylds. The Farus-Wylds border is defined by the Y-Split border created by the Lark River. The Farus-Province borders are defined as one half mile beyond the shores of Farus.
Why is it forbidden?
The Wyld-frontier and outer provinces are deemed unsafe and unfit to traverse by the lawmakers of Farus. The likelihood of death or injury is too high to allow civilians to explore beyond the Farus borders.
Who does this law apply to?
This law applies to all civilians and nobility of Farus.
What are the exceptions?
There are attainable licensures and permits for essential explorers, relic hunters, and Crown-Sanctioned professionals. These require the Imperial Crown’s personal sign off and are notoriously difficult to acquire
What are the consequences of breaking this law?
Depending on the severity and whether or not the offender has repeatedly attempted to break this law, the consequences rang from a fine, all the way to arrest.
Who enforces it?
The City Guard, overseen by delegated Brightblade, protect the Farus-Wyld’s Lark River Bridge border. The turbulent open sea beyond the shores and reefs are natural barriers to the other provinces, with no current sea-faring vehicle being technologically advanced enough withstand the dangerous waters.

Purpose & Role

This post is made in order to educate members on the plausibility of leaving the Province of Farus. It is LARGELY IMPOSSIBLE for player characters to exit the premises of the setting as of right now, which is Farus, at this time.

If there is an in-story reason for your character to leave Farus, it would be to enter the Wylds, and your character would have to acquire a permit or license from either the Crownreach Charter (Adventurer’s Guild) or the Empress herself in order to cross the Lark River Bridge.

Trying to “brute-force” your way out of the limits of the setting right now, as in beyond the borders of Farus will not end well for your character. You have been warned. ♡

Note: This will change as the story and world expands. Territories and provinces will become available as the story progresses.
📌 What This Means for your Character
This means your character was born and raised in Farus. This also means that your character has no knowledge of the current state of their homeland and province.
